Legoland 2012

While we were at Disneyland last year, we took a one-day side trip to Legoland. Here's the layout.

It's inspired by a Becky Higgins layout ("Why We Love Summer") published in Creating Keepsakes in Aug. 2008. I loved her grid design with black pen lines separating the photos. After adhering the photos and drawing the lines, I used my light box to trace the Legoland logo, colored it in with pens and added Stickles to the sun. I wrote out my journaling, then added the minifig sticker and speech bubble.

I seriously love Legoland. I can't wait to go back.

  2. I love grids and I love my black pen so I love this layout! It's a very clean design but your addition of the Logo and Lego character definitely adds an element of fun to it! Again, loving that "light box" idea!

  5. I love everything about your 2-page layout, Cindy. The grid design looks fabulous, and really shows off the photos from that day. I especially like the sun and your hand-written journaling!!!!

  7. I love how all your pages have that clean, simple look, even when you pack in the photos! I read in an older post that you used some program to combine four photos into one and then just order it as a 4x6 print. I tried it using Microsoft Publisher and wasn't completely happy with the print quality. Some of the photos were a bit grainy while others were fine. Any hints for me? What software do you use for this task and is it expensive? Any free versions out there?

    1. I used to have problems with grainy pictures and found that it occurred when I combined totally different colors/saturations on the same 4x6 (for example, two darkish indoor photos with a bright outdoor blue sky with a cloudy day). Now I try to put pictures together that are as similar as possible and it's made a difference. They don't always all come out perfect, but they're infinitely better. Depending on which developer I use, I turn off the auto-correct any time that's an option. I use Google's Picasa to make the collages, which is free.
