Yes, it probably is a good combo of all those things... but your personality and years of working w/ young children are a definite bonus!
BTW - I love the last sentence you wrote! It cracked me up and just proves that as mature and well-behaved as Trevor is, he really is a "regular" kid deep down inside, LOL! ;0)Doreen Vasquezhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17229635212973145932noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5667359180148612833.post-46154597550349526362016-03-01T09:54:44.507-08:002016-03-01T09:54:44.507-08:00That is an excellent question. Whether he is a product of nature, nuture, or plenty of both, I'm not sure. But I am confident that my training and years of teaching do help me be a better mom. I've certainly learned a lot of patience! Trevor and I work very well together and he does enjoy learning from me, but we do have our occasional parent-child moments. He doesn't always trust what I teach him and wants to confirm my methods, facts, etc. with his teacher. I'm constantly reminding him that I WAS a fourth grade teacher and that I know what I'm talking about! I don't think they're sweet enough...
Madison made pozole and homemade tortillas for her assignment... they were alright, LOL!

On a side note: Trevor is such a good boy... He seems really mature and I love the way you teach him and he seems to actually pay attention and learn. Most children aren't like that...well at least not w/ their own parents... my children aren't/weren't like that (most of the time).
Besides the fact that you're obviously a great mom, I wonder also if the years of teaching have something to do w/ it? Do you feel that your years as a teacher helped you get ready for parenting and still helps in your life as a parent?Doreen Vasquezhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17229635212973145932noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5667359180148612833.post-30050685449901778552016-03-01T05:11:36.446-08:002016-03-01T05:11:36.446-08:00How fun!
