Utah Travel

Our family loves the Beehive State! We took a weeklong trip to the Salt Lake area in June 2016 and packed in tons of kid-friendly activities. I returned in April 2017 for SNAP Conference. During both trips, I was so impressed with the number of excellent restaurants and attractions, how easy Salt Lake City is to navigate, and how clean and safe everything feels.

There is so much to do in the Salt Lake area. These were our family's favorites:

• State Capitol scavenger hunts (free!)
• Temple Square (free!)
• Clark Planetarium 
• Mrs. Cavanaugh's Chocolate Factory tour 
• Great Salt Lake Tour 
• 'This is the Place' State Heritage Park 
• TaleBlazer Games at Red Butte Botanical Garden
• Bonneville Salt Flats (free!)
• Ft. Douglas Military Museum (free!)

• Spitz
• Red Rock Brewery
• Swig Sweets
• Eva's Bakery

When we traveled as a family, we stayed at the Hampton Inn Downtown, which was an affordable, family-friendly choice. SNAP Conference was held at the beautiful Little America Hotel, which is a wonderful option if your hotel budget is a bit higher.
