Happy Mother's Day!

I'd like to wish a Happy Mother's Day to the best mom I know... mine!

For 39 years, my mom has supported me in everything I've done. She's been my role model for how to be a great mom. Yesterday Trevor told me, "You are the best Mommy! Really!" That's how I feel about my mom. How were both of us lucky enough to get the best Mommy?

To my mom, I say:

Thank you for being such a great mom. Thank you for everything you've done for me and continue to do for me. Thank you for always supporting me. I love you.

That's not paper on that card. It's fabric. One of the Fiskateer National Scrapbook Day challenges was to use fabric on a project. When I found this fabric, I knew it would be perfect for a card for my mom. Anyone know why? Unless you knew me in elementary school, you will never guess! To make this interesting, I will buy/make/send lunch to anyone who correctly guesses the significance of this fabric before my mom figures out how to write a comment and answers the question.  If she is the first, she gets the lunch. She is excellent at many things, but technology isn't among them, so you probably have awhile to guess. Be specific!

Happy Mother's Day!

  1. I'm guessing she sewed you a dress from the material.

I think your card is beautiful! I'm sure she's going to absolutely adore it.

About Jordan's photo... I zoomed WAY in and it says "Dortter". I would say I pronounce it as daw-ter. LOL I do have a pretty thick Southern accent and so does she. Thank you for the comment on my post Cindy!

  2. Is it because of the red and white polka dot shirt you wore for your second grade photo? (The infamous eyes-closed photo!) I had to go back and peruse all of your grade school photos, and I was struck by how much Trevor resembles you in your K and 1st grade photos. Cute! :)

  3. It's not a dress, nor the 2nd grade shirt. As you can see, Mom hasn't figured out how to post yet (she emailed me the correct answer, but that doesn't count). Keep the guesses coming!

  5. It is your Halloween clown costume. You wore it in kindergarten (and several years afterward). Nikki, look at your kindergarten photos. You are sitting next to her.

  6. YAY!! That was a total guess, sweet! Ok, that is too funny that you have fabric for that long AND it hasn't fallen apart??
