Fun with Friends in Colorado, Part 3

This is the third post about the long weekend I spent traveling to Colorado with my high school friends. I recommend starting with the first and second posts before reading this one. Because I blog about educational travel, I received media passes and other benefits for some of the locations we visited throughout our trip. Several of the places we went are free to everyone and we paid full price for the rest. Everything that I share is something I recommend without hesitation.

Fun with Friends in Colorado

We awoke to another absolutely beautiful day in Boulder on Sunday, October 18. The runners went out first thing in the morning and came back with gorgeous pictures to share. Boulder is a special place.

Under Colleen's leadership, we worked together to make an amazing brunch. That's Nancy's mom Sherry chatting with Colleen. She joined us for brunch.

None of us did a good job taking photos of the meal prep or the brunch itself. This is the only photo of the to-die-for blueberry muffins that Colleen whipped up from scratch.

I had a really nice time catching up with Sherry.

Unfortunately, by around 1:00 pm, I was starting to feel lousy. I thought it was dehydration combined with late nights and poor sleep. I decided to stay back and do a puzzle instead of going to Chautauqua Park. I've been there before and, while it is beautiful, I had packed two puzzles for the group to do and was determined to finish at least one of them. Kathy, who loves puzzles as much as I do, chose to stay with me while Betsy, Colleen, Nancy, and Nikki headed out to hike.

Boulder is a hiker's dream. There are so many trails and places to get out in nature.

We had dinner at Brasserie Ten Ten.

We ate family style, sharing the two appetizers and four entrees. The food was excellent.

Back at the house, we stayed up trying to finish a 1000-piece puzzle.

Finished! So satisfying.

Tomorrow I'll share how we spent the last day of this epic long weekend.
