Halloween Name Art

Challenge the kids to turn the letters in their name into Halloween icons. This fun project works with any name, uses minimal supplies, and requires kids to think creatively. Affiliate links below.

Halloween Name Art

Materials:

Steps:

Write the letters of your name on scratch paper, then think of a way to turn each letter into a Halloween icon. I made my C into a crescent moon with a witch flying by, the I into a bone, the N into a rattlesnake, the D into a (slightly squashed) bloodshot eyeball, and the Y into a dead tree. Other ideas include a pumpkin, ghost, spider, witch's hat, bat, or anything else you can think of. Some letters are more challenging than others, so feel free to mix upper- and lowercase letters to get the shapes you want. Anything goes!

Once you are happy with your design, sketch it lightly on bristol vellum and then color it in. Erase any stray pencil marks, then color around the outside of your name with a dark, contrasting color (like purple) to make the letters pop.
