My name is Cindy deRosier. (
Here's how to pronounce my last name.) For as long as I can remember, I've been living a creative life. As a young child, I loved everything having to do with arts, crafts, cooking, and creating. I still love all those things! Being creative is how I relax and how I best express myself. Over the years, I've tried just about every form of arts and crafts out there and I pretty much love them all.
I live in the San Francisco Bay Area with my husband Steve and our son Trevor, born in 2006. We love cooking, crafting, experimenting, and traveling together. We love adventures, big and small. You can always count on the deRosiers to add a creative twist to everyday life!
I have an MA in Education and taught 4th/5th grade for 11 years. When Trevor was born, I quit my job to become a stay-at-home mom. I was hired as a design team member for a local scrapbook store when he was two, which lead to more and more part-time opportunities within the craft industry. Now I am the Editor of
Fun Family Crafts, where we feature a curated collection of over 12,000 craft tutorials for kids from toddler to teen. I also do freelance writing and have worked with a variety of brands that I love, including LEGO, Leisure Arts, Wilton, Little Passports, Premier Yarns, Plaid, and many others.
In 2014, when Trevor was 8 years old, he and I started making
an album documenting his first visit to each of the 50 states. At that point, he had been to 7 different states. Steve and I decided that we would commit to taking Trevor to all fifty states by the time he is eighteen. Now
we are up to 44 states. The three of us have had so much fun exploring our amazing, diverse, beautiful country.
Welcome to My Creative Life!
