I love a good handprint craft and this Handprint Haunted House is a classic. Kids can add whatever details they want, making their house as simple or elaborate as they want. Affiliate links below.

Steps:
Select a background color for your project. Purple and dark blue are great choices for a night sky, but be sure they're not so dark that the haunted house will still show up.
Use a white or grey colored pencil to trace your hand on black cardstock. (I demonstrated with a black pen on purple cardstock so that it would show up better for the tutorial.) Add triangles to the top of each finger to make the turrets of the haunted house. Follow the lines you drew to cut out your haunted house.
Make a hill from the large scrap of black. Save the rest of the scraps for project details. Cut out a yellow circle for the moon.
Glue the hill, moon, and haunted house in place. Then start decorating. I worked from the top down (for no reason in particular), adding bats in the sky, shingles on the turrets, lit windows, and a door.
Then I added more windows, texture on the house, a spider on the door, a gravestone, and steps leading to the door.
I didn't like the steps I drew, so I covered them up with pieces of black paper to make them less prominent. Then I added a broomstick. The witch is home, but she didn't go through the front door because that would have disturbed the spider. How did she get in? It's a mystery!
