When I was an undergrad, never once did I get a super cool homework assignment like spending time in nature observing the natural behavior of great egrets. Although, to be fair, I never took a class in the Wildlife, Fish, and Conservation Biology department. I should have. Fortunately, all these years later, I got to spend the day after Thanksgiving observing egrets at Turtle Bay and the Sacramento National Wildlife Refuge with someone who actually is taking wildlife classes in college.

I hand-write my journaling on 99% of the layouts I make and it's almost never a problem. I usually have a general idea of what I want to say and then wing it. It works, except when it doesn't. This time it didn't and I couldn't fix it because I only had the one journaling card and I really wanted to use it. Among other things, I messed up the name of the Sacramento National Wildlife Refuge on #4, accidentally writing Sacramento Wildlife before realizing I'd left out National. I had to put it underneath, which looks weird, but oh well. The layout is in the album and the memories are recorded and that's what really matters.
