Easy Canvas Photo Frame

 I typically think of a photo frame as having an opening, but it's not mandatory. This version of a photo frame is made with a painted canvas. The photo is adhered to the surface with removable adhesive, rather than placed behind the frame and held in place with tabs. Affiliate links below. 

Easy Canvas Photo Frame

Materials:

• 8" x 10" canvas (or whatever size you want)
• acrylic paint
• 1" painter's tape
• white gesso
• 5" x 7" photograph (or whatever size you want)
• removable adhesive

Steps: 

Paint your canvas however you'd like. Neat or messy, with a brush or with fingers, lots of colors or only one - whatever! Be sure to paint the sides of the canvas as well. Let the paint dry completely. 

Apply painter's tape to the edges of the canvas. Then add a coat of white gesso over the uncovered portion. Let the gesso dry completely. 

Gently peel up the painter's tape. Apply repositionable Glue Dots to the back of your photo, then center it on the canvas. Instant frame, and you can change the photo whenever you'd like!

Paint Pouring "Be Creative Every Day"

I've been having so much fun customizing my make-and-takes from Creativation. Look what I did with the paint pouring project from Testors!

I wrapped the canvas with the adorable heart ribbon (LA Ribbons). Then I stamped the sentiment (Gina K Designs Crafty & Creative), colored the brush (Chameleon Marker), fussy cut it, mounted it on pink cardstock, fussy cut that, then popped it up with foam dots. My canvas is now on display in the craft room. 

If you're interested in trying paint pouring, there are quite a few companies in addition to Testors making pouring mediums or ready-to-pour paints. You can also make your own. Last year, I shared a kid-friendly, low-mess paint pouring project. I'm totally inspired to try again!
