Life Skills

We've been focused on life skills here at Casa deRosier. It's important to us that when we eventually send Trevor out into the world, he's as well-prepared as possible. I don't want him to be the guy in the college dorm who doesn't know how to do laundry, doesn't know how to pay bills, can't replace a button, and eats nothing but dry Ramen because he can't boil water. (That guy lived next door to me in the dorms back in the day. I like to think he's a bit more capable now.) So when my car got a flat tire, Trevor was the one to put on the spare.

I like how this layout turned out, and I wasn't sure why at first. It just feels really balanced to me. It wasn't until I scanned the page and saw it on my screen that I realized something cool. Look at the green and yellow gear embellishment. There's an arrow on the upper right, which I rotated so that it would point to the nail in the tire. I hadn't noticed, but it also points to Trevor. I love that!

  1. Ahhhh… nice design trick and love the colors on this layout! Trevor's future girlfriends, and wife, will thank you for teaching him "Life Skills" LOL!! Okay, I laugh, but I'm also serious... I have many friends whose husbands can't do stuff like this; they call someone. While my husband knows how to do it all, and if he doesn't he figures it out!
